Kia Ora!
Can you believe it’s already November? Where has the year gone? As we start to wind down our 2024 events, we’re already looking ahead to an exciting 2025 calendar. There’s so much in the works, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming up in the months ahead! But before I get too far ahead of myself, here are some recent highlights. Last Tuesday, we had an amazing turn out for our “Women in Tech: Pioneering Innovation & Leadership in a Digital World” event at ANZ which was organised in collaboration with our MĀIA New Zealand Women’s Network. It was an insightful morning with engaging candid discussions with female leaders in the tech space. We had an absolute blast this past Saturday supporting the 23rd Ambassadors’ Cup at Changi Sailing Club, alongside the New Zealand High Commission. The event brought together 19 Ambassadors and 29 Embassies for an unforgettable day on the water. And of course, the NZCC team put their bartending skills to the test, perfecting our new signature G&T that was dubbed the “Sonic” by one of our very own members, who shall remain anonymous. You know who you are — those NZCC Juno Gin Sonics were a hit and definitely went down smoothly! Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce that registration is now open for our highly anticipated Christmas Trivia Night! This event is supported by Be InQUIZitive and is sure to be a fun and festive evening filled with friendly competition and holiday cheer. Be sure to get your team together and register soon—you won’t want to miss out on what promises to be an exciting evening! While it’s been a busy and rewarding couple of weeks, we’re grateful for the support and engagement of our members and New Zealand business community. Stay tuned for more updates and as always please feel free to reach out with any insights, feedback or questions.
Warm regards, Melissa Holck Executive Director New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, Singapore |

Women in Tech: Pioneering Innovation & Leadership in a Digital World |
| Thank you to everyone who joined us for last Tuesday’s “Women in Tech: Pioneering Innovation & Leadership in a Digital World” event, held in partnership with Austcham Singapore. We kicked off with opening remarks from Danica Burke, Chair of the MĀIA Network, setting the tone for an empowering discussion.
Our panelists – Koren Wines from Xero Asia, Kelly-Ann McHugh from MyComplianceOffice, and Smrithi Ravi from WISE – shared their journeys of resilience and innovation, illustrating what it means to lead and thrive in tech. Moderated by Matthew Palmer of ANZ, this engaging discussion highlighted the power of diversity and the transformative role of women in shaping the digital world.
A special shoutout to Xero for supporting this event and to ANZ for hosting us. Here’s to many more conversations that challenge the status quo and inspire change! |

New Zealand took a leading role at the 23rd Ambassadors’ Cup 2024, hosted by Changi Sailing Club. With the NZ High Commission at the helm, guided by H.E. Gabrielle Rush and support from the the Chamber, this year’s event gathered 19 Ambassadors and 29 Embassies for a spirited day on the water. The NZ Chamber was honored to support the High Commission’s efforts, which resulted in an incredible showcase of New Zealand’s renowned sailing spirit despite the challenging wind and tide conditions.
The Après Sail festivities added a true Kiwi touch, with award-winning Juno Gin making for a perfect sundowner, while our generous sponsors, including Air New Zealand and ANZ, helped elevate the experience for all involved. The evening wrapped up with Air New Zealand’s exciting top prize of two business class tickets to Auckland, closing out a memorable day that celebrated New Zealand’s connection to the international community.
Thank you to all our sponsors and participants for joining us on this journey! |
