Kia Ora,
As we dive into the bustling last quarter of the year, things are picking up. The last couple of weeks have been quite the whirlwind here at the New Zealand Chamber, filled with fantastic events that kept us on our toes!
The first week of October, we had the honour of hosting an exclusive C-Suite Luncheon at CUT by Wolfgang Puck, featuring Shayne Elliott, CEO of ANZ, as our Guest of Honour. It was an incredibly rewarding afternoon, featuring lively conversations among industry leaders dedicated to building connections and exploring opportunities between New Zealand and Singapore. Big thanks to ANZ for allowing us the opportunity to host Shayne Elliot once again.
I attended the ANZ Singapore 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the gorgeous Pan Pacific Orchard. The night was really well done, with ANZ CEO Shayne Elliott sharing some great insights about ANZ's history in the region. We also had pleasure of an inspiring fireside chat with Paralympic swimmer Pin Xiu and a thought-provoking keynote from Karen Hao on the challenges of Gen AI. The evening was beautifully executed. Congrats to ANZ on 50 amazing years—here's to our continued partnership!
We had an awesome turnout for the joint networking event on October 4, co-hosted with the ASEAN New Zealand Business Council. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces come out to connect with business leaders from across the region. I especially loved finally meeting my peers in person! A big thank you to everyone who joined us for such a great event!
Finally, a big thank you to everyone who participated in our roundtable discussion with Vangelis Vitalis, Deputy Secretary for Trade and Economic at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade. His insights on New Zealand’s trade strategy and the evolving global landscape sparked some great conversations. And a special shoutout to Fonterra Singapore for hosting us in their beautiful venue!
Looking ahead, I’m excited about our upcoming Women In Tech event on 29 October. If you’re into tech, starting your own business, or just curious about the tech world, you won’t want to miss this event! It’s a great chance to gain fresh insights and connect with some amazing women in the industry. So make sure you sign up!
Stay tuned for more updates and events coming your way!
Warm regards, Melissa Holck
