Event Details

  • Do New Zealanders view Asia as important for the country's future?
  • How much do New Zealanders know about Asia, and are knowledge levels increasing?
  • What do New Zealanders make of Asia's complex geopolitics?
  • Which countries in Asia do New Zealanders consider friends?
  • What do New Zealanders think should be done to build connections across Asia?

The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono has been tracking New Zealanders' perceptions of Asia since 1997.

Now in its 25th year, the annual Perceptions of Asia survey offers comprehensive insights into New Zealanders' awareness, knowledge, and interest about Asia. The survey supports the Foundation's mission: equipping New Zealanders to thrive in Asia.

The thematic survey spans a wide range of topics, from geopolitics and trade through to sports, media, and popular culture (kiwis love Squid Game…)

Join the Asia New Zealand Foundation's Deputy Executive Director (Adele Mason) and Senior Research Adviser (Jordan King) for an in-person briefing and discussion of the latest survey insights.

Wine & nibbles will be provided.
